New Delhi, July 15, 2024 – Uttar Pradesh Government & India Expo Centre & Mart jointly hold a Road Show in the national capital on July 15, 2024, at Hotel Royal Plaza, 19, Ashoka Road, Connaught Place, New Delhi as a vibrant precursor to the much-anticipated UP International Trade Show 2024. This is said to be the biggest ever-sourcing event of the State that is being organized by the Uttar Pradesh Government, in association with the India Expo Centre & Mart. The UPITS 2024 Road Show is proudly taken out by organizers to engage more people, especially domestic buyers, with the event. This Road Show marks a significant milestone in the lead-up to UPITS 2024, scheduled from September 25 to 29, 2024.
It is pertinent to mention that UP International Trade Show is an aspiring initiative of the UP Government to boost trade and business in different sectors in Uttar Pradesh. Reflecting on the groundbreaking success of the inaugural UP International Trade Show (UPITS) 2023 which was inaugurated by Hon’ble President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu and attended by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, the event underscored Uttar Pradesh’ semergence as a formidable force on the global stage, drawing over 500 foreign buyers, 70,000 domestic buyers, and attracting overall more than 300,000 visitors. Emphasizing the state’s commitment to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision, the success stories of schemes like One District, One Product (ODOP) were shared, showcasing a significant leap in exports and job creation, steering Uttar Pradesh towards the goal of becoming a trillion-dollar economy as envisioned by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Yogi Adityanath which sets up a concrete ground for the second edition of UPITS.
The Road Show was headed by Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary Department of M.S.M.E.& Export Promotion, Handloom & Textile & Khadi & Gramodyog Dept., Govt. of Uttar Pradesh alongside senior officials from Uttar Pradesh and witnessed the convergence of other esteemed dignitaries. Organized by the Department of MSME & Export Promotion, Government of Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), Greater Noida, the event spotlighted the strategic preparations and visionary outlook for the upcoming UPITS 2024.
A press meeting was addressed by Hon’ble Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary Department of M.S.M.E. & Export Promotion; Shri Pawan Aggarwal, Joint Commissioner Exports, Uttar Pradesh Export Promotion Council, Govt. of U.P; Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Commissioner & Director, Directorate for Promotion of Industries and Enterprises, Government of UP and Sh. Rajkamal Yadav Additional Commissioner, Directorate for Promotion of Industries and Enterprises, Government of UP ahead of the Road Show to introduce the second edition of UP International Trade Show that is scheduled to be held from 25 – 29 September 2024 in the premises of India Expo Centre & Mart.
Shri Rajesh Kumar, IAS, Commissioner & Director, Directorate for Promotion of Industries and Enterprises, Government of UP, in his welcome speech, stated that UPITS2024 marks a significant achievement as the inaugural all-encompassing platform to display the complete range of products and industries throughout Uttar Pradesh. The event fulfils an essential requirement for a specialized platform at both international and national levels, facilitating connections between businesses in Uttar Pradesh and worldwide purchasers, thereby promoting expansion and innovation. He expressed confidence that UPITS 2024 would meet and exceed collective expectations.
Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary Department of M.S.M.E. in his address appealed everyone to attend the 2nd UP International Trade Show which is committed to connecting the manufacturers of Uttar Pradesh with the huge markets not just all across the country, but the entire world. Also said that we had some apprehensions while organizing the first edition of UPITS and despite that, we got a great response but this time we are more confident to have a grand event to showcase the potential of Uttar Pradesh. He urged international partners to actively promote UPITS 2024 within their networks, inviting them to extend personalized invitations to buyers, sourcing agents, retailers, and key industry influencers from their respective countries or regions. He also encouraged the organization of business delegations to attend the trade show and requested assistance in reaching out to traders, investors and businessmen across the states and countries.
Shri Pawan Agarwal, Joint Commissioner (Export), Export Promotion Bureau, Government of UP, delivered a vote of thanks. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who spared the time to connect with UPITS 2024. He invited all attendees to witness UPITS 2024 and bring their associates, business partners, friends, and families to the mega trade show to experience the vibrant growth of Uttar Pradesh in trade and businesses.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML expressed his gratitude towards the UP Govt. for giving all the aid to organise the mega trade show. He said that this time we’ll include more categories and sectors not included in the previous edition due to the scarcity of time. He also promised to display those products and ventures left in the last edition. He added that 2nd edition of UPITS will be even grander and set new milestones of success.
Besides, many other senior government officials from Uttar Pradesh graced the event including Shri. Raj Kamal Yadav, IAS, Additional Commissioner, Directorate for Promotion of Industries and Enterprises, Government of UP and Senior officials of India Expo Centre & Mart including Sudeep Sarcar, CEO, India Expo Centre & Mart.
The UPITS 2024 aims to exceed expectations, building on the solid foundation laid by its predecessor. It promises to be an unparalleled sourcing platform that brings together government officials, policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and international delegates, fostering opportunities for collaboration and showcasing the best of Uttar Pradesh’s craftsmanship, innovation, and business potential. Meanwhile, the Council of Buying and Sourcing Consultants mentioned that they are expecting to generate a huge business during the second UPITS 2024 which is estimated around 4000cr.
The Road Show attracted a diverse audience, including senior officers from the MSME and Export Promotion Department of Uttar Pradesh, representatives from various focus sectors, trade associations, chambers of commerce, embassies, and heads of foreign missions. The overwhelmingly positive response from business representatives and organizational leaders underscored the high level of anticipation and interest for the upcoming UPITS 2024.
