“Emergency” the name itself sounds a lot but those who have not seen the real emergency in India from June 25, 1975 should go for it.
The Hindi movie Emergency releasing on January 17, 2025 starts from the childhood of former Prime Minister of India Mrs Indira Gandhi (Kangna Ranaut plays the role of Indira Gandhi), which was surrounded by the politicians.
After she saw a lot of incident like Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru and Lal Bahadur Shastri expired, the congress party choose her Prime Minister. But during an malpractice in an election, the court declares her election null and void and barred to contest the election for another six years.
Then she put the emergency in India from June 25, 1975.
All the leader of opposition along with lakhs of people are put behind the bars. Sterilization and demolition scene are watchable.
At last the real emergency came to an end on March 21, 1977. Then in the election Congress Party loses and Janta Party comes to the power. But it could not survive for a long time and in the year 1980 Mrs Indira Gandhi became Prime Minister.
Then came Blue Star operation in Punjab.
But in the last Mrs Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her security officials.
